Recent Activities

May 7, 2017: The Kalamazoo Singers premiered my commissioned piece High Flight (based on the poem by John Gillespie Magee, Jr.) for their Fortieth Anniversary concert at WMU's Dalton Center Recital Hall.

March 31 and April 1, 2017: I performed two pieces during the SCI National Conference at WMU: Dan Cavanagh's From the Barrage Comes Clarity with trumpeter Robert White, and Robert G. Patterson's song cycle American Pierrot with baritone Carl Ratner.

March 11, 2017: I played organ with the Kalamazoo Singers and orchestra on their "Choral Classics" Concert at First United Methodist Church, Kalamazoo.

December 10, 2016: I played piano and organ with the Kalamazoo Singers on their "Candlelight Reflections" concert at First Presbyterian Church, Kalamazoo, at 7:00pm. I also served as orchestra contractor.

October 30, 2016: My choral piece Fire of Love was premiered at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in honor of the parish's fiftieth anniverary during 11am Mass.

September 23, 2016: I performed excerpts from my composition Variations on "Barbara Allen" for the Kalamazoo Singers Gala fundraiser at the Kalamazoo Institute of the Arts at 7pm. I also accompanied vocal solos, duets, and ensemble pieces.

July 19, 2016: My commissioned hymn "To God We Sing Our Praise" was premiered by the choir at St. Basil's Catholic Church in South Haven, Michigan. The hymn was written to commemorate the renovation of the church sanctuary.

April 16, 2016: My piece Three Jazz Intermezzi was premiered by flutist Tabatha Easley and percussionist Justin Alexander on Saturday, April 16, at 8pm: Sonia Vlahcevic Concert Hall, Virginia Commonwealth University.

February 21, 2016: I accompanied the Kalamazoo Singers in their concert The World At War: Love From Home at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Portage, Michigan.

November 22, 2015:
I accompanied the Kalamazoo Singers in their Christmas concert at First United Methodist Church, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

November 10, 2015: My piece for five guitars, Pent-Up!, was premiered at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

November 5, 2015: I accompanied cellist Jordan Hamilton in a performance of Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei on at First Baptist Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan, as part of the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music.

October 19, 2015: My piece for glissando head join flute and piano, Follow Your Gliss, was premiered
by flutist Tammy Evans Yonce and pianist Shu Li at South Dakota State University in Brookings.

September 26, 2015:
Variations on Barbara Allen performed by pianist Phoenix Park-Kim. Bloomsburg University: Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

September 18, 2015: Variations on Barbara Allen performed by pianist Phoenix Park-Kim. Portland Piano Company: Portland, Oregon.

September 15, 2015: I played for the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music fundraising event at First Baptist Church: Kalamazoo, Michigan.

September 12, 2015: Variations on Barbara Allen performed by pianist Phoenix Park-Kim. Indiana Wesleyan University: Marion, Indiana.

June 18, 2015: I performed Pidgin Piano at the College Music Society International Conference in               Scandinavia, Royal College of Music: Stockholm, Sweden. In addition, I served as manager for the two composers' concerts.

June 7, 2015: Kalamazoo Singers Concert in the Park. Accompanied the chorus for their annual concert in   Bronson Park (moved to First United Methodist Church due to rain). Kalamazoo, MI, 4:00 PM.

May 3, 2015: Kalamazoo Singers with Kalamazoo Children's Chorus. Accompanied the Kalamazoo Singers and served as instrumental ensemble coordinator for the performance of John Rutter's Mass of the Children. First United Methodist Church: Kalamazoo, MI, 3:00 PM.
